  • and A Science/Tech/Engineering/Arts/Math (STEAM) focus.

There is also a selection of private schools in the area. Additionally, the city has implemented a Safe Routes to School program. Cultural Offerings

In 2008, Calabasas completed construction of a Gold LEED certified Library and Civic Center complex. The two building complex was the first “green” civic center structure constructed and owned by a municipality in California. The complex contains meeting rooms, an amphitheater, the Calabasas Library, and the Calabasas Channel (CTV).

The city is also home to the Calabasas Tennis & Swim Center, one of the best public facilities in Southern California. The grounds are located near Calabasas Lake and are surrounded by century-old oak trees. The Center is home to the Top Seed Tennis Academy, which is considered to be the top tennis academy in Southern California. You’ll also find a junior Olympic pool, children’s instruction pool, and a full range of fitness classes.

The name of the city is generally considered to be derived from the Spanish word calabaza which means pumpkin. Therefore, it’s not very surprising that the town is home to the annual Calabasas Pumpkin Festival. For over 40 years, the festival has been providing pumpkin-themed fun to bring the community together for two days in October. The city also hosts an annual Eggstravaganza Egg Hunt and July 4th Fireworks Spectacular. Also, if you’re interested in the arts, the Calabasas Arts Council hosts an annual fine arts festival.
